About the Practice
I started The Law Office of Steven R. Slattery with a focus on Criminal Defense in the State of Connecticut. Criminal law has been my passion throughout my life. That passion has guided my educational decisions and career path. My job is to help those who are arrested in dealing with the criminal justice system. From arraignment to dismissal, plea or verdict, I work hard for my clients not only in seeking favorable dispositions but also in communicating and educating them throughout the process. I don?t leave my clients in the dark and I don?t BS. My job is to help people through the often uncomfortable experiences most associate with the criminal justice system. I love my job and I am good at it
Born in Queens, NY my mother and father moved our family out of the city when I was about three years old. From the city we moved to a small town in Connecticut known New Fairfield. New Fairfield is just outside of Danbury, CT and is on the New York border in the western part of the state. I attended and graduated from New Fairfield High School. After High School I applied and was accepted to Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. Located about a half an hour outside of Manhattan, in Westchester County, I spent four years at Iona studying criminal justice. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice my thirst for studying law, in particular criminal law was not quenched and I applied and was accepted to Western New England College School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts. I graduated in the top 25% of my class from Western New England College School of Law with a concentration in the study of the criminal law. I sat for and passed the Connecticut Bar Exam and am now practicing out of Hartford, Connecticut.
